New mail-processing machine, DTM 8000 goes on show in Sydney.

Absolute Electronics has scored the distributorship of the product and will begin showing off the DTM 8000 to potential customers next week.

Tony Malone, national service manager, said that the machine is targeted at mail houses, small print shops and advertising agencies.

“It’s a niche product that is well-suited to transpromo and generating great responses for direct mail,” he said.

One of the DTM 8000’s strengths is its ability to take a single sheet of paper and create not only a letter, but also an envelope and process it at 1000 letters per hour. It delivers 100 per cent accuracy in matching contents to envelope.

Peter Bainbridge, general manager of Melbourne mail development, Envelopments Engineering, praised the machine for what it had done for his business.

“When I first heard about it I knew it was one of those groundbreaking inventions that changes the way an industry works,” he said.

So far, AP Mail has installed the machine and once it becomes available next week, Malone expects that interest will continue to grow.

“We’re looking forward to showing the machine to Australians and seeing how it goes here,” he said.

The DTM 8000 will be available for viewing from next week at Absolute Electronics: 23 Richmond Road, Homebush West NSW.
