Hear no evil, says Sensear
Printers cop an earful when it comes to noise in the workplace. But Sensear have begun consultations with a number of printing companies to implement its hearing products into the workplace.
As part of Safe Work Australia Week, the company demonstrated its new Sensear SP1 earplugs which block out background noise but allow for high quality speech communication with other workers and hearing protection.
According to Darren Deitz, national sales manager for the company, News Limited, Fairfax and Hannan Print in Victoria has tested the SP1and discussions with PMP are also in the works.
"The general areas of the printing industry are okay, but around folders and large presses it's quite loud," he said.
Deitz predicted a greater response from the printing industry when the SM1 earmuffs are released in January next year. "The SM1 earmuffs offer a greater opportunity to communicate around loud noise," he said.
