Law breaks his silence on ACP printing centre

PBL's chief executive, Ian Law, talks back to ongoing speculation about ACP opening its own printing centre.

Law, who has so far kept silent on the topic and been unavailable when approached by Print 21, gave an interview with The Australian Financial Review, where he still remained evasive when questioned, offering only an elliptical response:

"We continue to look at out options, including the economics of installing our own printing facility," he said. "This process is being worked through and will be completed shortly."

If PBL proceeds with this action it would spell an end to contracts with printers including PMP, Independent Print Media Group and Blue Star. When the likelihood of this was raised in an interview with Print 21 earlier this year, PMP's CEO, Brian Evans, dismissed the talk as speculation.

"Every business today is looking for ways in which they can save money, put their prices up, bring their cost base down, so you've got to work in that environment," he said.
