Iconic forms printing company, Paragon Printing along with Moore Office Products enter voluntary administration.

The two companies, once a part of Moore Business Systems, were excluded from the company’s recent takeover by Argus. Paragon Printing and Moore Office Products is owned by investor Amir Hyster. Mark Westerman, is also a small shareholder.

Chartered accountants and business advisers, Hall Chadwick, who are handling the administration, declined to comment on the situation.

David Glavonijic, (pictured) managing director of Argus, confirmed the situation. “It’s not a pleasant prospect when one of your major suppliers goes into administration,” he said. "We source 40 per cent of our printing from Paragon."

According to one Paragon Printing employee, the site is still operating, though the employee was aware that “something is going on.” The situation could have major ramifications in the Albury-Wodonga community. With approximately 160 full-time workers Paragon Printing, according to Glavonjic – who grew up in the area – has provided stable employment for the locals for years. Some employees have spent their entire working lives at the company.

With an impressive fleet of fifteen printing presses, including three TMSW presses made specifically for Moore, an Egan press, Gebler press and three Heidelberg two-colour Speedmasters, the company produces a number of important jobs for companies such as Woolworths.
